CHEM 2020 - CHEMISTRY FOR LIFE SCIENCE II |
Description: This course is a continuation of Chemistry for Life Science I, designed for students who require an understanding of a wide range of chemistry topics but not intending to major in a science. Discussions will continue in organic chemistry, exploring topics such as important functional groups in organic chemistry and their functionality in drugs. In addition, topics in biochemistry will also be considered, including chemical messengers, enzymes, energy and vitamins. Metabolism of fats, carbohydrates and amino acids will also be discussed.
