CHEM 2110 - CHEMISTRY I:GENERAL PRINCIPLES
The first of a two-year, four-course sequence in general and organic chemistry, this course serves as an introduction to chemistry for students in the physical and biological sciences. It is a prerequisite for all subsequent courses in organic, inorganic, and environmental chemistry and is required for most of the science and health disciplines. Introductory chemistry: composition and structure of matter; energy changes; stoichiometry; periodic trends; chemical equilibrium; solutions; gas laws; and acids and bases. Prerequisites: MATH 1100 with a grade of C or better (may be taken concurrently) OR MATH 2215 with a grade of C or better OR GNM 1126 with a grade of C or better OR GNM 2310 with a grade of C or better OR FRST 2310 with a grade of C or better OR AAF 260 OR APCM 55 OR S02 550 OR A02 24 OR 0000 TO 4999 Course Attribute 403. Corequisite: CHEM 2115 Attributes: This course may be offered in sections with a Q2 designation.
