Information You can use any combination of selection options to narrow your search for courses. You must choose at least one subject. MARS 1100 - SURVEY OF OCEAN LIFE
Prerequisite: Not open to MARS majors. Not recommended for non-science majors. Not open to students with credit for MARS 2201.
Designed for science majors outside MARS, this is a survey of the organisms living in the marine environment. Lecture topics include an overview of the special properties of seawater that influence marine ecosystems and of the major habitats of the ocean. Primary focus is on a systematic description of the plants and animals that inhabit this environment and explanations of how they interact with the ocean and one another and are adapted to life in the sea.
