GEN 1135 - COLLEGE ALGEBRA |
Prerequisite: High school algebra (2 years) and geometry. Not open to students with credit for any Math acronym course. Note: A student may not earn more than 4 credits toward graduation by taking both GEN 1135 and MATH 1100. Quantitative reasoning intensive course (Q1).
This course prepares students for subsequent enrollment in math-related courses, especially in areas of business studies and the social sciences. Topics include a brief review of elementary algebra, graphs and functions, systems of equations/inequalities, matrices, linear programming, exponential/logarithmic functions, sequence and series. Not recommended for students who intend to study calculus; such students should enroll in MATH 1100 Precalculus Mathematics. Faculty: F. Cerreto, W. Geremew
