Prerequisite: PUBH 2432, PUBH 3102 Permission of Instructor required Values/Ethics course (V). Examines patient, health care provider, and illness interactions in order to understand the social, psychological, and environmental factors that impact on patient well being. Issues concerning patient self-care, patient activation, and health education in a medical care setting are discussed. Emphasis is placed on the examination of current research and case studies.
