GAH 3306 - THE PRE-CODE HOLLYWOOD ERA |
Arts course. (A) This course will examine and explore the representations of women and men during the period known in American Cinema as Pre-Code Hollywood. Pre-Code Hollywood spans roughly from 1930-1934, during a period of great turmoil in American culture. The subjects of these films reflect images of rebellion, irreverence and an unbridled freedom. We will examine this era of filmmaking and the impact it had on our culture. Faculty: J.
