GIS 3687 - FORGOTTEN CRAFTS |
This course will present multiple facets of forgotten crafts of a self-sufficient lifestyle and how interest in these crafts has made a resurgence in recent years. The course will introduce skills such as seed saving, bee keeping, knitting, canning, baking, soap making, candle making, and wood working. The course will investigate these crafts from a variety of perspectives: artistically, historically, scientifically, politically, economically, socially, and culturally.
