Arts course (A). A survey of western art covering the history of art from ancient times to the twentieth century. Emphasis is on the artistic achievements of major civilizations, from the Greeks to medieval and modern Europe, and the United States. A variety of art forms are considered, including painting, sculpture, architecture, and photography, as well as the cultures that produced them.
