GAH 1292 - HISTORY OF TELEVISION IN AMERICA |
This course surveys the history of television in the US, both the technological invention itself and the various types of programming created – both defunct and ongoing. From the pre-existing medium of radio through the present we will take a journey through the early days of television, through its adolescence and “middle age” to its present synthesis with current technologies such as computers and the internet. Attention will be paid to major television personalities and the genres in which they became famous.
