GIS 4643 - HISTORY AND CULTURE OF BEAUTY |
Open only to juniors and seniors. This course looks at the culture of beauty from different perspectives, the ethnographic approach to the world of the beauty shop, and our culture’s focus on beauty and youth, and how those ideals have changed over recent history. Research will vary, but all students will conduct participant-observation research at a beauty salon or barbershop.
